Yesterday we got the makings for breakfast, so it was a domestic scene in our studio this morning.
Marguerita consulted the city guide and we discussed the next move.
First though we needed to sort out one of the Travel Cards which we had not used for two years.
Took 3 calls to Oz and an internet connection to get access to the codes and the money...
So about 12:30 we headed out and walked over to the Deutsches Historisches Museum. Lunch in the Cafe there and then we headed up to the 2nd floor where they traced German development from 100 BC to 1918 AD.
They have done this very well indeed. There was a coherent story told with magnificent artefacts presented beautifully.
Charles v Holy Roman Emperor 16th C |
14th C Knight |
A Goblet |
The Medicine chest from 17th C |
The figure at the top of the medecine chest |

Carl Benz, the first Automobile 1885 |
The Doctor Car 1895. Originally the stinking automobile was viewed with distaste by the populace but quite quickly Doctors and the post office realised how the automobile would speed up service. |
The way back to the Adina via pedal power. Resting our weary legs. The museum took us almost 4hrs and we skipped the last part dealing with WWI and the rest of the 20th century |
